The Scene Aesthetic - The Days Ahead

Released December 6

Still embracing the beauty of their acoustic sound, The Scene Aesthetic puts together another great mix with more full band and acoustic songs for anybody wanting that lively yet relaxing sound. The harmonies that Andrew De Torres and Eric Bowley make just sound so easy and peaceful. It's almost as if the history itself is audible throughout. Every song from the album seems inspirational or sentimental in some way.  From songs like Ships, "So pull that heavy anchor up, I've got our compass firm in hand. We'll use the stars to chart our course and take us far away from here." to A Little Bit More "There's something new about you everyday that makes me love you a little more, a little bit better a little more your every day that we're together. Falling more and more in love with you." There's a song for everybody to relate to whether it be falling in love or just not backing down or giving up on a loved one. Great album!

Blink-182- Neighborhoods

Released September 27 on DGC Records

Doing the first ever Honda Civic Tour created in 2001 with the album Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, ten years latter Blink-182 comes back just like if they were never gone. After not hearing from the band for a long time they come back with such power that no band can even compare. The punk sounding tunes that caught the attention of millions of fans with their previous albums was not a missing factor for theis new album Neighborhoods, released on September 27. With the single "Up All Night" they gave us a little taste of how the band is different and how is still the same. The big changes in the band are not the most obvious ones, their music is more to the heart instead of having of tunes about intercourse's with dogs or screaming to the world the 7 dirty words. The opening track "Ghost On The Dance Floor" show what is to come in the album. Right on with this song Tom Delonge, vocalist, showed how the music was more emotional than before and how they felt about music itself, "Your eyes they write on mine, the music starts to heal", music heals the band from being apart. Another great song was the single released "Up All Night" that with the chorus being so catchy is hard to stop listening to, this song shows great harmony mixed together. As the album progresses we continue with to hear great songs like "This is Home" which is a more upbeat song, describing what is home to them. Also another song that This album has been a great work for them, showing the world punk is not dead. This album might not completely like their previous albums but for sure one of their best.

Mayday Parade- Mayday Parade

Released October 4 on Independent Label Group

Mayday Parade has done it once again! They've released another great album. Same great band. This time around the guitar solos are a little more prominent. "No Heroes Allowed" and "Everything's An Illusion" both start out with small intro solos that catch the attention of the listener. Mayday Parade's self titled album consists of 12 songs. Each of which have a story to tell. "You're Dead Wrong" seems to be about a girl who leaves a boy for all the wrong reasons and goes looking for things to fill her lonely void. "She's got broken things where her heart should be." shows that she's missing something. "Stay", the name basically explains the whole song. He's begging her to stay even though he messed up. "Just say you'll love me and I'll say I'm sorry." shows that he knows he was wrong and just wants her love to still love him the same. Mayday Parade has depth to each one of their songs. They aren't just another band that becomes popular and fades out quickly. It's a safe bet to say that Mayday Parade will be around for a long while.
